About the Levels:
Intro to the Drums – I don’t even know how to hold a pair of sticks! I’m just exploring the drums and I want to have a blast with a group of ladies who also want to check it out. This is a very hands on experience.
Level 1 – Very new beginner to advanced beginner (playing drums at least 6 months) You can play a basic rock beat, and can do some basic fills. In this camp we will be learning to play more simple 1/8 note grooves, hand speed and strengthening exercises, and a variety of fills to expand your drumming vocabulary.
Level 2 – Advanced/beginners – intermediate. You want to get better at ghost notes, looking for more limb independence, challenging fills and 16th note grooves.
Level 3 – Intermediate – advanced/intermediate. You want more show off licks, linear stuff and you want to get fast! This retreat is focused on fills and chops soloing.

Airport pick up is at 3pm on Thursday. Orientation is at 6pm that same day and includes dinner here at the farm. Class starts at 9am, Friday morning. We say our goodbyes at 9pm on Sunday evening. Shuttle to SMF airport is 9am on Monday morning. The airport is in Sacramento and is about 45 minutes away from Sisters on the Drums.
It’s a quick 5-10 minute ride into town and to hotels. For those of you flying in, transportation will be provided each day to and from the designated hotel. Snacks are provided here at the farm, and lunches and dinners will be on your own, out in the nearby historic town of Auburn. Please let us know if your have any food allergies.
